EARLY HEAD START/HEAD START CLASSROOM VOLUNTEER

Volunteers to assist teachers with classroom activities for young children in our Early Head Start Centers and children ages 3-5 at our Head Start Center.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Volunteers assist the teachers with classroom activities for young children. Activities include reading stories, circle time, playground time, preparing for and sharing meals, and more. Each classroom has a lead teacher and assistant teacher. There are 10-20 children per classroom. Consistency and routine are really important for young children to thrive, whether at home or in a classroom environment. Therefore, volunteering in the classroom a minimum of once per week will make this the best experience for the volunteer, the children and the teacher.

NOTE: Criminal background and Child Protective Services checks needed.
