Become a Volunteer Lead with Volunteer Alexandria’s Disaster Reception Center – a role you’ll hopefully never have to fill!

When disaster strikes, people want to help. In such case, Volunteer Alexandria may open a Volunteer Reception Center (VRC) to deploy hundreds of screened people quickly and efficiently, possibly over a period of several days. Volunteer Leaders are needed to help their staff manage the Center. Positions include greeters, data entry, trainers, interviewers, section managers, and more.

All Volunteer Leaders will be trained over a 12-month period, and must be available for up to three hours per month for training, exercises, and fun activities. No prior emergency management experience is necessary.

For more information on this and the roles available, reach out to RSVP Volunteer Manager, Shannon White, at swhite@volunteerfairfax.org.
