Shepherd’s Center-Annandale/Springfield has Two Important Volunteer Needs

The Shepherd’s Center has a vision: A World Without Loneliness. To achieve that vision, they work hard to ensure that as members of the community age, they do so with dignity and experience a high quality of life. Services include health advocacy, decluttering advice, food pick-up and delivery, and friendly callers and visitors, including to but not limited to veterans.

Shepherd’s Center serving Annandale/Springfield has three available volunteer opportunities:

  1. Office Assistant
    • Time commitment
      • 6 hours/ month (two 3-hour shifts)
      • Monday-Friday: 10:00 am-1:00 pm, 1:00-4:00 pm
    • Training provided
    • Match volunteer drivers with local seniors needing transportation to medical appointments and shopping:
      • Make calls
      • Provide information
      • Data entry
    • Remote
  2. Board Member
    • The Board of Directors of the Shepherd’s Center of Annandale/Springfield serves as the organization’s governing body. The Board is responsible for shaping the organization’s mission and direction, for ensuring that the organization has the appropriate leadership and resources to achieve its strategic goals, and for monitoring and improving the organization’s performance.
    • Meetings are on the first Monday of each month from 10:30-12:30, currently via conference call.
