Green Spring Gardens Needs Volunteers at Their Historic House in Lincolnia

Green Spring Gardens is looking for volunteers at their Historic House. Built in 1784, the Historic House has seen multiple noteworthy owners and multiple renovations throughout its existence. Now, it stands on donated property and is home to various educational programs offered by Green Spring Gardens. There are currently two volunteer opportunities available:

Historic House Greeter: Greeters will be stationed at the front desk of the Historic House during both week days and weekends. Volunteers will greet guests, answer questions, and help with basic administrative tasks as needed. Volunteers must be willing to learn some history about the Historic House and grounds, have strong organizational skills and a friendly attitude when welcoming guests to the House.

Historic House Tea Service Volunteer: Tea services are Sundays from 1:15pm-3:30pm inside the Historic House. Volunteers will set up, pour tea, serve scones and samples, carry trays and bring dishes back to the kitchen. Volunteers must be able to stand for the duration of the tea service, carry up to 20 lbs, be willing to learn some history about the Historic House and grounds, and interact with guests in a friendly, welcoming manner.

For more information about these opportunities, please contact RSVP Volunteer Manager, Shannon White, at swhite@volunteerfairfax.org.
