RSVP’s November Thanksgiving Food Drive with FACETS: Thankful!

On Monday, November 30th, eight AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers braved the biting wind and chilly day in Fairfax to donate and organize food with FACETS for those in need.

FACETS, a non-profit partner, has been helping parents, their children and individuals who suffer the effects of poverty – so often unnoticed – in Fairfax County since 1988. They provide emergency shelter, food, and medical needs, help these individuals gain safe, sustainable and permanent housing and work with them to end the cycle of poverty through educational, life skills and career counseling programs.

Enjoying some hot chocolate on a blustery day!

FACETS personnel (Brittany and Allison) facilitate drop offs as well!

FACETS has multiple volunteer opportunities out there, especially during the cold weather, to help with food and meal distribution. If you would like to volunteer with FACETS, please reach out to RSVP Volunteer Specialist, Shannon White, at swhite@volunteerfairfax.org.

Thank you to the volunteers for their donations, big hearts, sturdy backs and enthusiasm. Your hard work helped feed those in need. Thank you for coming out for your community!
