Fairfax County Department of Family Services has a special program for Pre-K to sixth grade. The Body Safety Program focuses on building safety skills within the child, preparing them to identify risks such as:

  • Child abuse
  • Bullying
  • Internet safety

The curriculum, Childhelp® Speak Up Be Safe, gives children a comfortable, non-alarming way to talk about the sensitive and complex problem of child abuse:

Volunteers schedule are flexible, with classes occurring during the day, afternoon, and some evenings.

All work is currently done in a virtual classroom. Program facilitators will receive training.

If you are interested in participating as a Body Safety Program Facilitator, please contact RSVP Volunteer Specialist, Shannon White, at swhite@volunteerfairfax.org.
