The Sully Historic Site in Chantilly is looking for volunteers eager to conduct tours, tell stories, and create conversation at the 1794 home of Richard Bland Lee. The site contains the original house, outbuilding, and a representative slave quarter.
Time commitment: 45 hours per year for 2 years (strong preference for weekends)
COVID precautions: Tours have been modified to allow only family units or learning pods with no more than nine visitors. No mixing of family units. Other changes include, no walking through rooms (only staying at viewing areas). While the house has a total of three floors, during COVID, tours will only have access to the first two.
If you are a history buff wanting to participate in this volunteer opportunity, please reach out to RSVP Volunteer Specialist, Shannon White, at swhite@volunteerfairfax.org.
