Cornerstones has been a pillar in the DMV for nearly 50 years. Families living in this region, with its notoriously high cost of living, can struggle to overcome tough economic times. Through services like

With the food insecurity on the rise, Cornerstones has continued its commitment to serving individuals across Northern Virginia.
Join the effort this week in helping Cornerstones deliver food to those in need just in time for the Thanksgiving holidays. Read the details below, and if interested, please contact RSVP Volunteer Specialist, Shannon White, at swhite@volunteerfairfax.org.
Times and Dates:
- Thursday, November 19th, 2020 from 9:30 am-3:00 pm
- Friday, November 20th, 2020 from 9:30 am-1:00 pm
- Note: volunteer effort may not take full allotted time.
- Where, what, and how:
- Meet at a Saint John Neumann Catholic Church 11900 Lawyers Road, Reston, VA.
- Help receive, sort, and pack boxes of food to be ready for distribution.
- Head to designated neighborhood sites to help distribute boxes to the community.
- Requirements:
- To be able to lift and carry boxes of food.
- Wear weather-appropriate clothing.
- Masks are required at all times.
Saturday, November 21th, 2020 from 9:45 am-12:00 pm
- Where, what, and how:
- Meet at one of four neighborhoods Cornerstones serves to help distribute Thanksgiving food donations.
- Requirements:
- To be able to lift and carry boxes of food.
- Wear weather-appropriate clothing.
- Masks are required at all times.
