Create Stockings for Hospice Patients this Holiday Season with Capital Caring

Capital Caring’s mission is to provide patients and their families with advanced illness care of the highest quality.

This holiday season, Capital Caring is calling for volunteers to help bring a bit of joy to those in hospice with DIY stockings. After all, sometimes all it takes to turn a bad day around is a small gesture from a stranger.

Help brighten a hospice patient’s day by stuffing a stocking. Some ideas include, but are not limited to:

  • wrapped candy
  • skid-proof socks
  • lotion
  • scented soaps
  • pens/pencils
  • activity books like crossword puzzles and sudokus
  • mini flashlights
  • short storybooks
  • knitted scarves and hats
  • and more
