Thank you to the  two dozen RSVP volunteers who filled the halls and conference room of Volunteer Fairfax in Fairfax City Saturday morning,  packing backpacks for local school children during RSVP’s monthly group service project performed in support of RSVP partner FACETS’ Back to School Drive.

We would also like to thank the RSVP volunteers who donated their time  Friday afternoon to help move and organize materials used in Saturday’s project.

FACETS is not only a partner of RSVP but a close neighbor. FACETS and Volunteer Fairfax,  where RSVP is based, are both located in the Burkholder Office Complex on Page Avenue in Fairfax.

RSVP-Northern Virginia is a program of Volunteer Fairfax, Volunteer Alexandria and Volunteer Arlington.

During Saturday’s project, volunteers heard from RSVP volunteer specialist Brandi Morris about upcoming RSVP volunteer opportunities including those with the Northern Virginia Senior Olympics.

Representatives from FACETS also spoke to volunteers about their program’s activities.

Below is a gallery of photos, (taken by RSVP volunteer engagement leader Lou Coglianese) of Saturday’s activities.

The September RSVP Group Service project will be supporting the Northern Virginia Senior Olympics Sept. 14-28. There are still a variety of great volunteer opportunities available at the games. To view all time slots and locations and to sign up, please visit Volunteer with RSVP and the NVSO.

Thanks again  to Lou for the great job on the photos and to all the other engagement leaders and volunteers who made this project a success.
