RSVP-Northern Virginia and the Northern Virginia Senior Olympics will hold a joint volunteer info session, Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 10 a.m., at the Oak Marr RECenter in Oakton, to recruit volunteers for the 2019 senior games planning committee.

Volunteers from across Northern Virginia are sought to support the 2019 NVSO games in a variety of critical as well as creative roles ranging from supporting the nonprofit’s website to designing its tee shirts and posters. The NVSO is a volunteer driven nonprofit organized and run in partnership with Loudoun, Prince William, Fairfax, Fauquier and Arlington counties and the cities of Falls Church, Fairfax, and Alexandria.
NVSO offers competitions that exercise the body as well mind for those 50 and better. RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program), the region’s largest volunteer network for people 55-years-old and better, is the official volunteer partner of the NVSO, the largest annual senior competition in Northern Virginia. The 90-minute event is free and open to the public.
This free session will be held in the Oak Room at Oak Marr RECenter, located at 3200 Jermantown Road, Oakton, VA 22124, less than a mile off of Route 66.
The NVSO, held each September since 1982, attracted nearly 900 competitors in 2018.
