An Inspiring NVSO story : Joyce Tobias

Each fall our volunteers are inspired  by the folks who take part in the Northern Virginia Senior Olympics.  This year will be no different.

Multi-gold medal winner Joyce Tobias is in training for the 2018 NVSO that takes place September 15-26. Registration for the ’18 games ends Aug. 24 at http://www.nvso.us

Joyce and her story were  featured on the cover of the Fairfax County Times’ latest  Seniors tab. You can download a PDF of this special section here

As you will see, Joyce is not one to be discouraged by the challenges we can sometimes face when aging.

RSVP will be hosting a special NVSO – themed Bocce Lunch and Play, Thursday, Aug. 2, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Green Acres Center in Fairfax City. If you are 55-years or better please call RSVP volunteer specialist Carly Hubicki on Wednesday to sign up for the event  which takes place the following day. Carly can also  help you sign  up for a volunteer slot to support Joyce and her fellow NVSO athletes.

We hope to see you Thursday!
