The Reston Farmers market is a weekly event that offers as much personality and fellowship as it does food.

Senior volunteer John Lovaas not only started the farmers market in Reston 21 years ago, he helped create what has become a community institution.

His wife Fran joined John in this agricultural labor of love 10 years ago. Together they manage the RFM at Lake Anne Plaza, a weekly event that offers as much personality and fellowship as it does food.

RSVP Northern Virginia outreach specialist Rob Paine visited the market over two Saturdays this summer and has filed the following video report.

The Reston market is one of 11 farmers markets run by volunteers under the auspices of the Fairfax County Park Authority, one of the local agencies RSVP volunteers can help support.

We hope you enjoy the video. Thank you John and Fran for all of your inspiring volunteer work!
